You might not think it, but the more creative you are, the more excited your kids will be to join in on arts and crafts.

Starting young also helps with cognitive development and keeps them busy in a good way.

Easter is around the corner, and it’s all about marshmallows and chocolate eggs, so why not try some Easter-themed crafts with the kids?

It’s a great way to keep them entertained – and maybe even sneak in a well-deserved coffee break.

1. Paper towel magic

This one amazed us, so we can imagine your children’s reactions.

Fold a kitchen paper towel
in half and draw an Easter picture with a black permanent marker, making
sure it bleeds through to the other side.

Open the paper towel and colour in the picture with coloured markers.

Next, pour some water into a large tray and have your kids place the towel into it.

Watch the video from TikTok to see how it’s done.

@ccandlalay Day 1 of our Easter Themed Activities 🐣🥕🐰💚🩷 So easy to set up ! How to : – use paper towels (folded in half) – draw with black permanent marker that bleeds through – use regular markers to color in the second sheet – add water to tray – place the paper towels in the water and watch the magic ✨ #activitiesforlittles #toddleractivities #creatorsearchinsights #toddlermomsoftiktok #easydiy #easycraft #toddlerthings #craftymoms #toddlertok #springcrafts #papertowelcrafts ♬ Friendly Forest Frolic – Tyara Marandika Candra
2. Easter bunny dot painting

While this is perfect for little ones, it’ll also make older kids feel like they’ve made something really cool.

Cut out any shape you want from paper – an Easter bunny is a fun picture choice – and stick it to another sheet of paper.

You can use white or, for something more dramatic, try black or coloured paper.

Let your kid use a sponge and different coloured paints to paint dots around the shape.

Watch the video from TikTok that shows you how this might turn out.

@seasonswithsydney EASTER BUNNY DOT PAINTING 🐰 the easiest craft to do with your littles this Easter! Make any shape you want, tape it to some paper, then have your kiddo use a dot brush to put paint around it. So cute and so easy I love the bright pastel colors against the black! #easter #Easter crafts #easterbunny #craft #crafts #easycraft #toddlersoftiktok #toddler #toddlermom #toddlercrafts #toddleractivities ♬ original sound – Headbangers Dan
3. Cotton pad Easter egg decorating

Cut out a large egg shape from cardboard, using a cereal box or any cardboard you have at home. Glue cotton pads onto the egg.

Next, mix food colouring with water and let your kids use liquid droppers to decorate the egg.

Watch the video from TikTok to see what the final result could look like.

@nikkitied Easter craft based on one of our favorite Easter books right now! 📖 🐛 🐣 Had to break out the droppers and cotton round again! Such an easy set up and she had a blast! How to: – Hot glue cotton rounds to an egg shaped piece of cardboard – add food coloring and water to a bowl ( use as many colors as you’d like!) – add droppers and let their imagination go wild 🥰 We read The Very Hungry Caterpillars Egg Hunt and had a blast looking for all the eggs hidden throughout the book but any Easter book would work with this craft 🫶🏼 #bookcraft #ericcarle #toddlercrafts #craftsforkids #easteractivities #eastereggs #eastercrafts ♬ Brighter Than The Sun – Colbie Caillat
