All kinds of quilts will be shown and sold at the Art, Craft and Amish Quilt Sale. Submitted.
The Art, Craft and Amish Quilt Sale will take place Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 9-12, from 9 am to 5 pm each day at Mr. G’s Fernwood Gardens, 5890 Hwy 57 south of Jacksonport.
Handcrafted Amish-made quilts in a variety of styles, patterns and colors will be for sale. The quilts will be displayed on a queen-sized bed and regularly turned. Each quilt will be explained as it’s presented, with chairs set up in the gallery area for viewers.
Amish-made wall hangings, table runners, potholders, table centers, rugs, children’s rockers, barn quilts, treats and other items will also be sold.
Local artists will demonstrate their work, including handcrafted brooms by Chris Steinhagen; pen-and-ink works on Door County beach stone by Ken Klitzman; pen-and-ink works on embossed watercolor paper by Sandra Peterson; glass painting by June Grutza; copper wire trees by Rebecca Kamenick; and baskets by Kathy Plahmer.
Attendees may sign up for door prize drawings, which include four $25 gift certificates, redeemable at Jacksonport Cottage or future Art, Craft and Quilt Sales. Participants need not be present to win.
The entry fee is $1. Children 8 and under are admitted free, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
