Vice-chairman Arthur Roberts said there would be more than 30 stalls at the event at Pelsall Community and Arts Centre on Saturday (July 12).

Mr Roberts said the event would raise much-needed funds for the centre, which requires £120,000 a year to keep open.

There will also be a raffle, tombola, hot food and children’s activities during the fayre which will be held from 10am until 3pm.

Visitors will also be invited to guess the name of a teddy bear.

“This is strictly a community-funded organisation, there is no funding from the council,” Mr Roberts said. “We depend on what we raise to keep this place open.”

Mr Roberts said there had been a number of improvements made to the centre in recent years, including new windows and a skylight.

“We are bringing the building into the 21st century,” he said. “It dates back to 1965 and there is a lot of work we need to keep on top of.”

Admission to the event is £1 for adults, with free entry for children.
