Shoppers filled German’s Villa on Nov. 8 for the annual Holiday Craft Show, held at 3330 Liberty Avenue in Vermilion.
The long-running event featured more than 60 vendors offering handmade items such as woodwork, jewelry, home decor and baked goods. Local vendors included Crafty Shenanigans, Koscinski Woodworking, Abbe Road Designs and Forever Family.
“It’s always a hit,” said German’s Villa employee Nancy Miller, who has worked at German’s Villa for 40 years. “We start sending out applications in June, and we have so many people who come year after year. The crafters are amazing, and our guests look for certain tables because they know the quality.”
Miller said organizers focus on offering a wide variety of crafts.
“We try not to get too much of one thing, like jewelry,” she said. “We want to have the right mix for everyone.”
Employee Kathy German said most vendors return each year because of the strong turnout and welcoming atmosphere.
“About 65 to 70 percent of our vendors come back,” she said. “When we see people walking out with bags full of things, that means we’ve done something right.”
New additions this year included 3D-printed crafts and art made from sea glass. “We’re always happy to see new ideas,” German said. “It keeps the show interesting.”
The event also featured a concession stand with homemade cabbage and noodles, turkey wraps, and ham and bean soup, all made on-site.
“Some people come just for the food,” Miller said.

German’s Villa has hosted the craft show for more than 30 years, drawing hundreds of visitors each time. “It’s good for the vendors and good for the community,” German said. “People get to shop local, see old friends, and get in the holiday spirit.”
Miller said plans already are in place for another craft show in February with a spring theme.
