Fab Finishes’ portfolio encompasses what Bogany refers to as “quiet luxury,” which embodies material integrity and cultural depth. “It’s not the flashy logo-driven version of luxury. It’s something sober, something that people with a very discerning eye will understand,” she explains. This focus on culturally rich techniques and unique artistry is a step toward positioning the brand outside the margins of ultra-modern, factory-made finishes.

The company’s forthcoming line, Maker’s Pile, is an exemplification of its commitment to those crafts. Expanding its rug portfolio, the new line is dedicated to hand-knotted rugs, which Bogany emphasizes are produced by skilled weavers in India. “These pieces rely on ancient techniques that have been passed down through generations,” she says.

Hand-knotting, as Bogany notes, is one of the oldest forms of rug construction. She explains, “It can take months to complete, with density measured in knots per square inch determining durability and visual complexity. There are no shortcuts. Higher knot counts can give a rug its longevity.”

According to Bogany, Fab Finishes sources premium materials such as New Zealand wool and alpaca fiber to offer tactile richness. With every sourcing choice, the company emphasizes quality and density with a goal to offer a final product that maintains its structure and appearance over decades of use. Furthermore, the company integrates minimal technology, an effort taken to maintain the true integrity of its handcrafted products. “There’s always some level of technology involved, but the heart of what we do is still the craft,” she says.

Through its commitment to artisanal creations and heritage, Fab Finishes strives to go against machine-made finishes and mass production trends. In doing so, Bogany aims to protect traditional crafts from erosion and extinction. According to her, the company perpetually creates demand for skilled handcraftsmen. She says, “The weavers we collaborate with are engaged in this craft every day. We choose the slow path, because that’s what keeps the art and their skills alive.”

The commitment to creation runs deep for Bogany, whose career began in land development and construction in the early 2000s. “I landed that job with a development firm after a chance encounter with a county commissioner,” she recalls. Through that experience, she learned about infill development strategy, entitlement processes, and the mechanics of bringing projects to life. After 2008, Bogany transitioned into general contracting as a result of the financial crisis. There, she began overseeing the full construction for a funeral home project, which sharpened her overall understanding of structure, material depth, and execution.

Over time, her work evolved toward interior finish-outs across commercial and residential projects. While she had the technical expertise to manage ground-up construction, it was the finishes that consistently held her attention. “The part I loved most was selecting tile, lighting, and materials,” she reflects. “That’s where a space really comes together.” That realization became the foundation for Fab Finishes.

“The name is short for both fabulous and fabrication,” Bogany shares. “We were fabricating countertops, surfaces, and finishes. We were making all these things, and they were all fabulous.” The company’s tagline, ‘Where fabulous spaces are made,‘ is a reflection of that hands-on ethos and her broader ambition of influencing material preference and creating an awareness of traditional crafts across the US market.

For the future, Fab Finishes continues to expand its product offerings, with new handcrafted lines in development and a growing emphasis on globally sourced finishes that have yet to reach American interiors at scale. As the company grows, its mission remains rooted in bringing meaning back to materials by elevating craftsmanship and proving that luxury does not need to announce itself to be understood and cherished.
