This year’s Kirkcudbright Art and Crafts Trail was a huge hit over the weekend.
Nearly 140 venues in and around the town welcomed people in – despite Monday’s bad weather.
Organiser, Colin Saul, said: “We had lots of smiling faces and plenty of people came that had not been before. It was everything we wanted. The only problem came on Sunday night when the bad weather came in and we had to take down the Soaperie Gardens gazebos because of the wind.
“It didn’t significantly affect the overall weekend and everyone was saying they thoroughly enjoyed it.”

Over the weekend, people were able to enjoy a range of musical performances in Harbour Square, including the Lyric Singers, Wave Blues Band, Kissing the Flint, Creetown Silver Band and Churches Together.
Bands also performed in Greengate, where people could also enjoy a mermaid trail and refreshments at Sophie’s All Hail the Cream Tea cafe.
This year’s trail aimed to celebrate the RNLI’s 200th anniversary and support Kirkcudbright Lifeboat’s fundraising appeal for station upgrades.
Shops decorated their windows for the occasion, with talks and themed displays around the town.
