The event, known for its welcoming atmosphere, brought together crafters from across the Vale, some living just a stone’s throw from the venue, showcasing everything from hand-painted Converse trainers and suncatchers, to woodcrafts, sock monkeys, and of course, freshly baked brownies.

CD Craft Fairs, run by a local organiser, Cheryl Davies, prides herself on featuring original, handmade products with a strong emphasis on local talent. The next fairs are already lined up at:

  • Belle Vue Pavilion, Penarth on Saturday 2nd August

  • St Francis Millennium Centre, Barry on 27th September

  • With a festive return to Penarth Leisure Centre on 22nd November for the Christmas Craft Fair

“It was so lovely to do a local Craft Fair in Penarth Leisure Centre. As a jeweller working from my home studio in Penarth, it was a great opportunity to connect with new customers, especially those who’ve seen my work online and wanted to meet the maker!”

Meg’s stall featured recycled 925 sterling silver jewellery, mixed with copper and brass accents, all inspired by nature and packaged using 100% recycled UK-sourced materials.

CD Craft Fairs continues to offer a platform for small creative businesses and a vibrant space for the local community to shop small and support handmade.

With the next events just around the corner, it’s the perfect chance to discover local talent, treat yourself, and meet the makers behind the magic.

In a world of mass production, do you think supporting local creativity is more important than ever?
