MAKE the most of falling leaves, conkers, ferns and other autumn delights for easy crafts at home.
You can get kids involved or get creative on your own.
Here’s what to try . . .
PILES OF FUN: Children love wading through fresh piles of leaves and will marvel at the colours. Encourage them to find different shapes and bright colours.
They can be used for leaf-rubbing with a few crayons and some paper. Or paint the veins and press them on to paper. With a little glue you can also create some animal figures or monsters. The kids can draw faces on them as a finishing touch.
HANG OUT: An autumn wreath looks fab hanging from the front door. You can use brightly coloured leaves, branches with berries, conkers or even mini pumpkins as decoration.

First buy a base ring. Hobbycraft sells a metal ring for £2. Or you could even cut one out of cardboard — draw around a plate to get a perfect circle, and then a smaller one for the inside of the ring.
Cover the base with large red or yellow leaves. You could tie together leaves with string and then attach to a ring with wire.
But it is easier to use a strong glue. Hobbycraft sells glue guns for £5, perfect for the job.
Leaves look great arranged in the same direction around the ring. Add any other decoration you like. It’s a good idea to arrange before glueing, to get an idea of how it will look when finished.
FINE TWINE: Another great project to make for the home is a decoration made of pretty autumn leaves to hang on the wall.
Hobbycraft has a step-by-step guide you can follow online but all you’ll need is a small branch, different leaves and twine. Tie each leaf with different lengths of twine and then tie to the branch at equal distances across.
The leaves will fall down at different levels.
Finish by attaching string a little longer than the stick that you can use to hang.
