Crowd’, an artwork by Colin Martin, forms part of the Luan Gallery’s next exhibition.

‘SYSTEM ARMING’, a new group exhibition exploring the ways digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and transhumanism shape contemporary life, will open in Luan Gallery next weekend.

The official launch takes place Saturday, September 20, at 2pm with guest speaker Dr. Francis Halsall.

Featuring artists Nadia J. Armstrong, Kennedy Browne, Aisling Phelan, and Colin Martin, the exhibition will run until November 16.

Through sculpture, film, installation, and painting, ‘SYSTEM ARMING’ examines how data, algorithms, and surveillance systems influence behaviour, reshape human agency and carry real-world costs – from psychological strain to environmental impact.

Highlights include Armstrong’s newly commissioned installation ‘Girl Hero’, Phelan’s speculative film works, Browne’s immersive exploration of digital labour, and Martin’s paintings reflecting on technology’s cultural and political reach.

Admission is free, and all are welcome. For further details on the upcoming exhibition, visit: luangallery.ie
