
The picture, painted by Arthur Ballard, is of Fordingbridge.
Mr Ballard was a key figure in the Liverpool art scene in the 1950s and 60s.
He lectured at Liverpool School of Art, where he taught John Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe, the original bass guitarist in The Beatles.

“The painting is inscribed on the back as being a depiction of Fordingbridge, Hampshire, dated July 1954.”
The painting will be auctioned at Wotton Auction Rooms in Gloucestershire on Wednesday, August 20.
It is estimated to fetch £300 to £500.
