Surreal Impulses–Beyond the Real has opened as a new display from the Museum & Art Swindon’s collections.
The museum, which is on Euclid Street in Swindon, is expected to display the painting until March 14, in response to a new Henry Orlik exhibition.
A spokesperson for the museum said: “We are exploring some of the themes of Surrealism in the artists in our collection.”
The exhibition starts with Swindon “surrealist” Desmond Morris, who discovered surrealism back in the 1940s while he was at school.
The museum added: “The Incident dates from 2018 and is on public display for the first time”.
It is one of several works under the same name that include Desmond’s distinctive biomorphic figures.
The museum is open to the public at Euclid Street in Swindon, Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30am to 4.30pm.
