Police took a 14-year-old Albany teenager into custody Sunday evening after reports that teenagers were spray painting racial slurs on Western Avenue, near Venezio Avenue.

Officers responded to the area around 7:54 PM. They discovered a group of juveniles near the graffiti, some of which was spray painted on public sidewalks.

Efforts are being made to remove the graffiti. All juveniles involved were released to an adult.

One teenager is charged with two misdemeanors related to Penal Law. The teenager was released on an appearance ticket.
