Duality: The Art of Contrast Opens June 24, Opening Reception June 28, with Printmaking Fun at Comox Summer Fest

The Pearl Ellis Gallery invites the public to a full day of art, creativity, and community on Saturday, June 28, as part of Comox Summer Fest.

Outside the gallery from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors can take part in Print & Play, a lively hands-on printmaking fundraiser. Watch live demonstrations of linocut, etching, and gelli printing or roll up your sleeves and try it yourself! Choose from a selection of original prints or create your own, and take home your favourite in exchange for a donation to support the non-profit art gallery.

Then, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., head inside the gallery for the opening reception of Duality: The Art of Contrast, a compelling group exhibition exploring the push and pull of opposing forces. Through painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media, artists reflect on contrasts such as light and dark, strength and fragility, tradition and innovation, and personal or cultural dualities. The exhibit runs from June 25 to July 20.

Admission to the Pearl Ellis Gallery is always free. Located at 1729 Comox Avenue, across from the Comox Mall, the gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. For more information, visit www.pearlellisgallery.ca.
