Gallery organizes Feb. 14 art workshop for a date night or an activity among friends
Save the date to bring a date or a buddy to make a last-minute Valentine’s Day card at the Nanaimo Art Gallery.
Anyone with a craving to do something crafty and creative on Friday, Feb. 14, can register for a printmaking workshop with local artist Sophie Roe to express their feelings for their heart’s desire with their very own personalized valentines.
Aisha Hamis, Nanaimo Art Gallery director of learning, said the printmaking involves carving designs into soft rubber blocks, rolling on ink and then pressing the stamps onto paper cards. Hamis said the gallery hosted printmaking sessions last winter and fall, both of which were well-attended.
