The show, titled Rivers of York, is on display at City Screen from now until February 7 and features work inspired by York’s rivers, the Foss and the Ouse.
The exhibition is spread across the downstairs café and upstairs corridor at City Screen and is open to the public during normal opening hours.
As part of the celebrations, a special event called Prints and Cake will take place on Saturday, January 17 from 2pm to 4pm in the upstairs lounge.
Visitors are invited to enjoy birthday cake, meet the artists, and learn more about the prints.
A spokesperson for York Printmakers said: “In order to celebrate our first decade we decided to create work exploring the theme ‘Rivers of York’.
“The exhibition showcases the variety of printmaking techniques our members use, including etching, linocut, collagraph, monotype, screen print, solar plate, Japanese woodblock, lithography and stencilling.”
Each printmaker has interpreted the river theme in their own style, reflecting the historical, ecological, and cultural significance of the Foss and the Ouse from Roman times to the present day.
