Their drawings have inspired a striking series of linocuts and etchings, now displayed in the shop window and among the museum’s fascinating artefacts.

“J.B. Banks is such a extraordinary resource, “said Jill Davis, “Sketching there has given us tremendous inspiration for our printmaking.”

Magda Brugier said: “The atmosphere of the museum with its amazing collection was a powerful stimulus for experimenting with different printmaking techniques.”

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to enjoy a display of original prints exploring a wide variety of subjects from lake district views to abstract compositions.

There will also be demonstrations of different printmaking methods and techniques and a chance for visitors to have ago at making a simple print for themselves.

The prints on display and a selection of cards and other handprinted items will be available for sale but entry to the exhibition itself will be free.
