From screenprints and linocuts to wood engravings and lithographs, the group exhibition Lines of Influence: Twentieth Century British Printmaking currently showing at The Base, Greenham, celebrates the artists who helped shape a British print-making and graphic design aesthetic in the 20th century.
If you are inspired by the print-making process you may be interested in workshops linked to this show by Berkshire Printmakers, who are running two screenprinting activites at The Base.

Silkscreen Printing Taster Workshop: November 9, 2pm to 3.30pm
As part of the Lines of Influence 20th-century printmaking exhibition at The Base – which runs to Sunday, November 16 – Newbury husband and wife team Berkshire Printmakers are offering a taster workshop on Sunday, November 9, for beginners to try their hand at the heritage craft of silkscreen printing and get to grips with a squeegee.

Screenprinting on Paper course November 6 to December 11, 1pm to 3pm.
For those who want a more indepth course the artist couple are also running a six-week daytime Screenprinting on Paper course.
The course is suitable for beginners and those with some printmaking experience.
They will take you through how to use a squeegee and get good printing results, how to create and print with paper stencils and how to create optical colours by printing with translucent colours.
It will also cover experimental printmaking using dry techniques, printing with charcoal and pastels and working directly on the screen with inks.
Both taster and printing on paper course are being run in the Lookout studio at The Base as exhibition related events this autumn.
