Art lovers can choose among 56 artist studios to visit during the weekend of September 27-28. Studios in North Arlington will open Saturday Sept. 27, and those in South Arlington, on Sunday Sept. 28.
AVAST is a free, annual open studio event held throughout Arlington County, Virginia. The Tour will offer a free guide to what’s on view where, so that anyone can meet the artists in their maker spaces and see examples of their work.
Visitors will see all kinds of painting, plus assemblage, collage, printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture, drawing, papercutting, metalwork, fiber, calligraphy, furniture and jewelry.
AVAST is a joint effort of independent artists and volunteers, supported by contributors including Fred Schneider Investment Group and Palette 22, and in cooperation with Arlington’s visual art organizations. This is its eighth year.
