THE Glenwood High School Visual Arts Department recently hosted its annual Grade 10-12 Art Exhibition, an inspiring celebration of creativity, hard work, and artistic excellence.
The talented Visual Arts students showcased their incredible works, and their passion for storytelling through art.
Award winners of the evening were: Best Pastel on Show – Believe Kikasu (Grade 12), Best Painting on Show – Gabriel Pellow-Jarman (Grade 12), Best Curated Body of Work – Lwandile Majola (Grade 11), Best Sourcebook – Jeremiah Theunis (Grade 11), Best Use of Colour – Itumeleng Ngongoma (Grade 11), Runner-up Best Overall Artwork – Jeremiah Theunis (Grade 11), Best Overall Artwork – Lwandile Majola (Grade 11), Most Intriguing Artwork – Aiden van der Westhuizen (Grade 10), Strongest Personal Voice – Nathan van der Westhuizen (Grade 10), Best Sculptural / 3D Work – Kurt Captain (Grade 10), Boldest Artistic Risk – Olwethu Tsiashi (Grade 10) and Excellence in Craftsmanship / Most Potential (Gr 10) – Thabiso Nkuhlu (Grade 10)

“We were honoured to welcome Old Boy Dr. Rory van As, Programme Co-ordinator and Lecturer in Visual Communication Design at DUT, as our guest speaker, who inspired the audience with insights on design as a strategic visual communication tool. A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful sponsors,” said the school.
The exhibition remains open to the public in the Mike Maher Media Centre.
