HAMILTON — The James R. Halsey Foundation of the Arts hosted its annual Student Showcase.
The event Wednesday highlighted impressive projects students created while learning to express themselves through storytelling, performance, and visual art.
“It was a celebration of creativity and accomplishment featuring work from our Acting, Photography, and Let’s Film programs,” Joseph Halsey, founder and executive officer, explained.
“The showcase was more than an opportunity for students to display their talent — it was a moment for them to shine, build confidence, and share their voices with family, friends, and the community. Each performance and photo represented hours of learning, teamwork, and self-discovery.
“Before this program, I was shy about showing my work,” shared one student. “Now I feel proud to tell my story and show people what I can do.”
The James R. Foundation of the arts in collaboration with community members, enriches the quality of life for youth (ages 14 to 20) by providing a safe and educational environment where participants are inspired and encouraged toward a better future.
The Foundation fosters an interest in the creative process as it relates to the art of filmmaking and provides life-skills training that promotes success in business and the arts.
Based in Hamilton, the Halsey Foundation showcases and positively impacts a diverse group, many from the City of Trenton.
