In a world full of ‘quick fixes’ to get your dream body, there are less invasive alternatives gaining traction – and body sculpting is one of them. Even Maya Jama’s been spotted trying it.

The Love Island host previously shared a clip of herself getting what looked like a body sculpting massage. In the video, Maya lies on her side while a therapist uses a flat metal plate to rub along her back, sides and hips in a back-and-forth motion. The method looks similar to Gua Sha, a Chinese technique that boosts circulation through deep massage.

Lymphatic Drainage

This gentle but effective massage targets excess fluid and toxin build-up in the body. It works by stimulating the lymphatic system, helping to flush out waste and reduce bloating especially around the stomach, legs and face.

Wood Therapy

This one’s not for the faint-hearted. Wood therapy is an intense massage using a variety of wooden tools, like grooved rollers and curved paddles to target fat, stimulate circulation, and contour the body. It can feel pretty aggressive, but many swear by it for breaking down stubborn fat pockets and toning up areas like the waist, thighs and back. It’s often paired with other sculpting treatments for maximum results.

Most body sculpting specialists recommend regular sessions typically a few over several weeks to see noticeable change – it’s not an overnight transformation, but it’s a gentler, non-permanent option that works with your body.

And while it won’t replace the gym or change your genetics, it’s helped a lot of people feel more confident in their skin especially when targeting specific areas that are hard to shift.
