KALISPELL, Mont. — Logan Health Children’s received a donation for a new program called The Doodle Buggy — an arts and crafts cart for patients at the hospital.
The donation comes from the Artists and Craftsmen of the Flathead. The idea is to support young patients and honor fellow ACF members who were lost to cancer.
ACF says this is a great way to give back to the community and help entertain kids while they’re in the hospital.
Child life specialist Amy Rohyans Stewart says, “My goal is just to offer art to our kids, have that medium available for them. There’s no reason that they can’t be creative when they’re sick. It just gives them a little lift.”
The Doodle Buggy includes glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, paint, diamond art and more.
With help from volunteers, the cart will be passed around to patient rooms every day.
To maintain the program, ACF is selling 100 Treasure Boxes filled with local handmade goods, and that money goes back to The Doodle Buggy.
