Listen to this articleThe Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition is accepting applications for the 2027 Step-Up Art Program, a partnership with Allied Arts that commissions original works from Oklahoma artists.
Since 2016, the program has commissioned local artists to create original artworks that are gifted to donors who contribute $200 or more through Allied Arts Workplace Giving drives. The program provides income, visibility and promotional opportunities for artists while recognizing donor generosity.
OVAC invites visual artists and artist collectives who reside or work in central Oklahoma or rural communities to submit proposals. Proposed works should be culturally or historically relevant to Oklahoma.
Selected artists will be commissioned to create between 800 and 1,500 original, hand-signed 2D or 3D display-ready artworks. Artists will receive up to $25 per piece in compensation, depending on the final scope.
The call for artists closes January 25, 2026. Artist selection will occur in February and March 2026, with the Step-Up Artist announced in June 2026 at the Allied Arts Campaign Celebration. Artwork delivery and distribution begins in November 2026.
