Led by professional artists, the sessions are part of the centre’s Crafts@Kirkgate programme.

The fused glass taster session is set to take place on Saturday, February 28, beginning at 2pm and led by Roxanne Denny of RD Glass.

Emma Heys, chief executive of the Kirkgate Centre, said: “During the session, participants will use pre-cut pieces of glass, glass rods and crushed glass in a range of shapes and colours.

“You will design and produce your choice of either a dish or wall hanging, which will then be taken to the tutor’s studio to fire.”

The piece can be collected after two weeks or posted for an additional £5.

The class costs £40 and covers all materials and equipment.

The Crafts@Kirkgate programme, which runs throughout 2026, offers monthly workshops on a range of craft techniques including kintsugi, botanical casting, and modern calligraphy.
