Alliance City Schools plans a weeklong showcase of its Visual Arts and Music departments.
The 4th annual Fine Arts Showcase will run May 11 to May 19, with various events that will show off students’ artistic and performing arts talents.
The showcase will begin with a districtwide visual arts show and reception on May 11.
“Our Fine Arts Showcase is a celebration of our students and the talent that defines Alliance City Schools,” said Shawn Jackson, assistant superintendent. “From our youngest learners to our seniors, their creativity and commitment reflect our district’s pride and the important role the arts play in shaping the whole child.”
The events offer families and community members the chance to see all the hard work, dedication and artistic talent of the ACS students.
“The Fine Arts Showcase is dedicated to honoring student creativity at every grade level,” said Renee Marinchek, the chair of the art department. “Families and members of the community are invited to appreciate the artwork and experience the artistic skills, effort, and creative expressions of our students.”
The showcase events are free, unless otherwise noted, and open to the public. All events will take place at Alliance High School. Events include:
May 9: Jetsetter Cabaret, 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets, $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens, can be purchased at the door or at singingaviators.ludus.com/index.php.
May 11-14: The district-wide visual arts showcase will feature artwork from students in kindergarten through 12th grade. It can be viewed in the main gym of Alliance High School from 2:30 to 8 p.m.
May 11: District Art Show awards and reception, 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided by Alliance Elementary PTO. Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee and Kona Ice will be outside the south lobby doors. A portion of the proceeds will go to the ACS art department. At 7 p.m., Alliance Elementary School concert will be in the auditorium.
May 12: Alliance Intermediate School 5th grade concert, 6 p.m. Alliance Middle School choir concert, 7:30 p.m. Both events will be in the auditorium.
May 13: Alliance Early Learning School first grade concert, 6 p.m. Alliance Middle School orchestra concert, 7:30 p.m. Both events will be in the auditorium.
May 14: Alliance High School and Alliance Middle School band concert, 6 p.m. in the auditorium.
May 19: Alliance High School choir concert, 7 p.m. in the auditorium
