The inaugural MADE Winchester festival is currently taking place at Winchester Cathedral, running from Thursday, May 7, to Saturday, May 9, from 10am to 5pm each day.

The event showcases contemporary handmade design, art, and craftsmanship in one of England’s most iconic heritage sites.

Andrew Micklefield, canon treasurer at Winchester Cathedral, said: “It’s a joy to welcome MADE to Winchester Cathedral and to see so many people enjoying the creativity on show.

“As visitors step into this beautiful place, there is not only the chance to discover remarkable craft but also an opportunity to pause, reflect, and explore faith.”

Curated by Tutton & Young, the festival features around 100 exhibitors both inside and outside the cathedral.

Visitors can enjoy daily craft demonstrations, free group art and craft activities, workshops, masterclasses, makers’ talks, and discussions.

The event is free with a standard entry annual pass to Winchester Cathedral, which offers unlimited entry to the cathedral for a whole year.

Tickets can be booked online in advance, with a £1 saving for early bookings.

The cathedral, home to the longest medieval nave in Europe and the burial place of Jane Austen, provides a striking backdrop for the festival.

MADE Winchester is designed to celebrate craftsmanship, heritage skills, and community, bringing together makers and visitors in a unique setting.

Opening times are 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4.30pm.
