The facts: According to deepfake detection tool Sight Engine, the image is 97% likely to be AI-generated.
It was originally posted by a Facebook page named “Jay Dol” on May 17. The Facebook post clearly indicated that the content is AI-generated and was created for entertainment purposes only. However, several Facebook users reuploaded the same image with a different caption and removed the label indicating it was AI-generated, misleading other users.
Duterte monument joke: Speaking to the Filipino community in Hong Kong in March 2025, Duterte made a joke as he addressed reports of a possible arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) over his administration’s deadly drug war.
During his speech, he requested his supporters to build him a monument next to that of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
