Naomi Duarte is the overall winner of this year’s Spring Visual Arts Competition. 

Prizes were also handed out for painting, sculpture, photographic and video categories.

The exhibition is now open at the Gustavo Bacarisas Gallery. There were 105 entries by 63 artists.

Sculptures, photography, paintings and video. This exhibition is a visual feast.

A number of highly commended works were awarded at the prize giving ceremony as well as the bigger awards.

Such was the level of talent that impressed judge and International artist, Jaime Velázquez Sánchez.

The Ministry of Culture Award for Overall Winner was Naomi Duarte with ‘Devotion’

the Painting, Drawing, Prints & Digital Painting Award winner was Shane Dalmedo for ‘El Paseito’.

Stella Bosano won the Sculpture Award with ‘Silent Scream’.

Dale Moreno’s ‘Sneaky Kid’ won the Photography Award                         

Meanwhile, Video Award went to Alex Menez for ‘Serendipitous’.

The Kishin Alwani Foundation Award for Best Gibraltar Theme was won by Sebastian Rodriguez for ‘El Reloj From Waterport’.

And The Gibraltar Cultural Services Award for the Best Young Artist went to Danille Grace Gafan – ‘Echoes of Elias’

The exhibition is open to the public from Wednesday 21st May to Saturday 31st May 2025, weekdays from 10.30am to 6.30pm and Saturdays from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
