A 90-year-old freemason has been recognised for 60 years of service to the craft.
Dudley Holland, a member of Seckford Lodge No. 6411, was honoured during a special meeting in Suffolk on May 21 attended by the provincial grand master, Jolyon Berry, and assistant provincial grand master, Ralph Robertson.
Mr Holland was initiated into freemasonry on May 19, 1965, at the age of 29, and became Master of Seckford Lodge in 1979.
He said: “The more you put into masonry the more you get out.”

Mr Holland has been a dedicated member throughout his masonic life, serving as group representative for 14 years and earning honorary membership in four other lodges.
He was awarded Grand Rank honours in 1992 as past junior grand deacon and was promoted in 2003 to past assistant grand director of ceremonies.
He has also been active in the Royal York Chapter, serving twice as Most Excellent Zerubbabel in 1990 and 2007.
