From 10am to 2pm, the Outer Bailey hosts Artisan Crafts, where friendly volunteers demonstrate heritage skills such as stone carving, wood carving and wattle and daubing.

These traditional techniques offer insight into the trades that shaped historic buildings and rural life in Dorset.

The event provides a relaxed, family-friendly way to explore the past.

Children and adults alike can watch skilled craftspeople at work and ask questions about the tools and materials used.

It’s a great complement to a summer visit to the castle.

Artisan Crafts is free with standard admission and doesn’t require booking, making it an easy and engaging addition to your day.
