
WEIRTON – The Summit Art Gallery is set to unveil “Arts and Crafts: Blurring the Lines,” a group exhibition showcasing 11 regional artists working in craft-based media such as mosaic, needle felting, stained glass, ceramics, metals, fiber, and found objects.
The public is invited to attend the opening reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Summit Art Gallery, located inside the Top of WV CVB at 243 Three Springs Drive, Suite 17, Weirton.
Curated by artist and educator Georgia Tambasis, the exhibit runs through July 18, and features the work of Betsy Cox, Jeffery Forster, Timothy Harriman, Hannah Hedrick, Dave Leppar, Kate Marshall, Kelly Messick, Ava Mick, Georgia Tambasis, Lambros Tsuhlares, and Kellie White.
From stained glass vegetables and stainless steel peace signs, to needle felted sculptures and WWII ship replicas made of wood and found materials; each piece tells a story through texture, form, and material.
“The work on display showcases the range of artistic possibilities the exist beyond traditional painting and sculpture,” said Tambasis. “Each artists brings a unique approach that explores unconventional materials and techniques.”
The show is on display during regular gallery hours, Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
