East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure has announced the launch of Craft Cafe, a new class that will give participants the chance to try out a range of different activities, including sewing, crochet, jewellery making, and decoupage.
The sessions will be led by an expert tutor, starting on April 22 and running weekly until June 17.

Andrew Wilson, who worked as a high school arts teacher for five years before moving into community arts, now leads adult and children’s art classes.

“We encourage attendees to let us know if there is something they would like to try and to develop their own style and area of interest as they develop and grow in confidence.”
The craft cafe is the latest art available offering from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, who offer a variety of creative classes, from painting for beginners and print making to watercolours, drawing and painting, hosted at venues across East Renfrewshire.
On top of developing new skills, art classes have been shown to help reduce stress and improve mental health, spark the imagination and creativity, improve memory, and help people expand their social circle.
Kids’ art classes are also on offer at various locations across East Renfrewshire throughout the year.
