Vadodara: The Department of Graphic Arts of M S University’s Faculty of Fine Arts will conduct a workshop under the academic exchange of teachers scheme 2018-19 on the art of collography (printmaking).
The six days workshop will be held under the guidance of eminent artist printmaker Jayant Parikh. Parikh, who had completed his fine arts studies from MSU in 1962, is known for his drawings, paintings, mural work and collograph prints.
During the workshop beginning Monday, students will learn the printing technique of the collography, which is very simple yet little complex technique.During the six days, students will learn various use of materials, to acquire printable textured quality in their images. The artist will share his life and working experiences among the students, where they will expand their knowledge on printmaking and resolve their doubts.
The blocks used for printing, prints and drawings made by him will also be on display for the students to understand the technique and the possibilities to further explore this unique method of printmaking.
