Sabrina Carpenter made a shimmering statement on the red carpet in an all-silver look with a statement thigh slit on Wednesday in New York at the 2024 Time 100 Next Gala.
The “Espresso” singer wore a slim-fitting aluminum metal mesh gown by Versace. The bodice featured a strapless sweetheart neckline with a nearly corseted silhouette. The skirt was floor-length and featured a dramatic thigh-high slit that revealed the singer’s matching platform silver heels. To complete the look, Carpenter wore a metallic scarf styled backwards in the same mesh material as the gown. Her signature blonde tresses were worn down in voluminous Old Hollywood waves.
The pop star is among Time’s 100 honorees, and will be performing a selection of her songs at the gala. In addition, Carpenter graces the front of one of the three worldwide covers, in addition to NBA Player Jaylen Brown and Aisha Nyandoro, Springboard to Opportunities CEO.
On the cover, Carpenter wore a red archival Victoria Secret gown with an embellished heart, originally worn by Naomi Campbell in 1997. The dress featured a statement bow and was styled by Jared Ellner.
In addition to the other honors, Carpenter also received high words of praise from Christina Aguilera, who wrote a piece in Time drawing parallels between their careers. She highlighted their similar past as child actors on The Disney Channel who became pop stars. Most recently, the two can also be seen singing Aguilera’s “What A Girl Wants” together on Spotify Anniversaries.
