ANTIGO, Wis. (WJFW) – If you’re passing through the South side of Antigo, you’ll probably see a new splash of color on the side of the Marathon Express Mart.

Antigo Visual Arts has installed a new public mural as a part of its public art mural program. This initiative was made possible through the City’s facade grant program that enhances the Antigo downtown area.

Created by local artists 83-year-old Beatie Gmeiner and 90-year-old Pat Packard, the finished 8 by 16-foot mural features a lakeside with native wildlife including ducks, geese, a leaping bass and a bald eagle.

People are encouraged to drive by the Express Mart to experience the piece firsthand.
