The Anatomy of Craftsmanship by Azza Fahmy Jewellery, Mayfair
As part of London Craft Week, Azza Fahmy Jewellery presents The Anatomy of Craftsmanship: an immersive installation that brings artisanal traditions and jewellery making to life. Inviting visitors into the world behind the pieces, the experience reveals the layers of thought, care, and artistry that shape each design, from its earliest concept to its final expression.
The installation unfolds across four chapters, from the starting point of Design Philosophy, where inspiration is gathered and translated into form through sketching and storytelling. From there, the journey moves into Manufacturing, a more intimate look at how each creation comes into being, and then deepens into Craftsmanship, where time-honoured techniques such as filigree and hand-piercing are brought to the fore; a reflection of Azza Fahmy Jewellery’s trademarks. The journey concludes with the Hero Piece, where the design is presented in its most refined state, reflecting the depth of process behind it. Available to view throughout the week, this is not one to miss.

Rolls-Royce Bespoke exhibition, Mayfair
To celebrate London Craft Week, Rolls-Royce will debut a unique exhibition at its flagship residence in Mayfair as a testament to the marque’s fluency in bespoke crafts. The composition, named Legacy Craft: Inspired by Still Life, draws inspiration from the nature morte paintings of the 17th-century Dutch Golden Age. Across the length of the Mayfair gallery, Interior Trim Centre artisans have composed a still-life arrangement of fruit and flowers, while debuting the first application of 3D leather sculpting and beadwork.
More than 250 hours of handwork were required to complete the installation, with the hydrangeas constructed from 50 individual flowers, each hand-sculpted from leather and painted by hand. The pomegranates are embroidered using the alternate stitch technique, with 76 jewel-like beads individually hand-sewn to form the seeds that replicate the ruby translucence of the real fruit. It has to be seen to be believed.

Jesmonite and Terrazzo workshop at Montcalm Mayfair

As part of this year’s London Craft Week, Montcalm Mayfair will host a hands-on craft workshop in collaboration with contemporary terrazzo studio Dottie + Olive to celebrate the art of terrazzo – a composite material which has been used to elevate design aesthetics since the 16th century. Taking place on 12 May, the Jesmonite and Terrazzo Workshop invites guests to discover the art of contemporary terrazzo design through a guided creative session led by Laura Pack, founder of Dottie + Olive.
Held within the sunlight-filled Bloom events space at the Mayfair hotel, the 90-minute workshop will see guests guided step-by-step through the process of designing, casting and finishing their own bespoke terrazzo trinket tray to take home. During the workshop, participants will learn how to mix jesmonite with pigments, create terrazzo chips and assemble their own trays using professional moulding and finishing techniques.

Crafted at Sotheby’s, across London
This May, for the first time in its history, Sotheby’s is dedicating its New Bond Street galleries to craft for the duration of London Craft Week. Aptly named Crafted, the series of events has been curated by Sotheby’s specialists to shine a light and deepen insight into the realm of craft of all kinds. Spanning sales, exhibitions and, talks and demonstrations, the calendar will kick off with a charity auction and Secret Ceramics fixed-priced sale of anonymously donated pieces in support of FiredUp4, the charity co-founded by artist Kate Malone MBE to raise funds for ceramics classes for young people at OnSide Youth Zones in some of the UK’s most economically disadvantaged communities.
Elsewhere, a selection of leading commercial galleries will also present selling exhibitions at Sotheby’s Conduit Street, collectively showcasing some of the best craft works being made today. For example, Charity Intoart will present a bold display of new craft commissions alongside works from its vast collection in Peckham, and a major public programme will include a series of thought-provoking talks and workshops held over two days: in the London Craft Week Symposium on 13 May, and at Sotheby’s own Festival of Craft on 16 May.

The artwork will be on show during London Craft Week at Volga’s Pimlico showroom and, to celebrate this collaboration, Pelican House founders Bella Valenzia and India Holmes, alongside Volga Linen creative director Claire Fouché, will host a panel discussion on 13 May.
