New Brewery Arts in Brewery Court in Cirencester is hosting a Spring Fling – a special open studios event taking place on Saturday, April 25 from 10am to 4pm.
Led by the craftspeople, makers and creatives who work in the studios at New Brewery Arts, the event is free to all.
Visitors are invited to step inside working studios, meet skilled makers, watch live demonstrations, try hands-on activities and discover limited-edition handmade work, including exclusive collections launching on the day.

Guests can explore working studios, watch live making and demonstrations and discover heritage crafts, including traditional straw hat-making.
They can also shop limited-edition handmade pieces, meet makers and ask questions, take advantage of one-day-only offers and enjoy coffee, cake or lunch in the café, where there is an open day offer of £5 per person for cake and tea/coffee.
Director Beth Alden commented: “Spring Fling is a chance to see craft in action – to step into the studios, talk to makers and experience the joy and vitality of creativity.
“It’s also a moment for people to understand exactly what New Brewery Arts is about.
“We champion craft – making it, learning it and supporting the people who do it.
“We are a unique place – the opportunity to see a glassblower or a hatmaker at work is not something you get in most towns.
“But places like this only exist when people walk through the door.
“When you use New Brewery Arts and the studios here, you’re choosing a livelier town, local makers, shared experiences and moments of joy.
“This is your creative home.
“Use us or lose us.”
The makers opening their studios on the day are:
- Tracey Elphick with mixed media collage in Studio 1. Donations welcome
- Glassblowers Loco Glass in Studio 2. Have a go yourself by glassblowing a landscape bud vase with LoCo for £90 pp.
- Stephen Perkins, traditional upholsterer, in Studio 4 (cellar studio)
- Daniella Wilson-Dunne with stained glass in Studio 5
- Liz Valenti with paper collage and paper clothes in Studio 6
- Ruth Martin from Baskerville & Jones with textiles in Studio 7. Create a spring flower embroidery here. Visitors can pop in and learn how to embroider daisies and watch or chat during the day with no charge. However, if you want specific teaching and materials, there is a charge to cover costs of £12, to include all materials, learning two stitches and the kit to take home
- Emily Hurst, milliner, in Studio 8
- Hayley Kruger, jeweller, in Studio 9. Drop in to create a personalised friendship bracelet or necklace by hand stamping a sterling-silver disc charm with initials. These can then be embellished with vibrant cord and semiprecious beads to make jewellery perfect for stacking and summer holidays. The cost per piece will be £32
While Spring Fling highlights the creativity at work in the studios, there’s more to explore at New Brewery Arts, including a shop selling work by UK makers and supporting independent craftspeople, craft and art courses for deeper learning, creative workshops for all ages and abilities and a cafe at the heart of the building.
