The Whitchurch Art and Craft Hub officially opened its doors on July 4 in the Craft Courtyard off St Mary’s Street, behind the Heritage Centre.
The not-for-profit hub aims to make art and crafts affordable and accessible by offering low-cost classes and clubs to the community.

The project was launched by Ms Chambers and five other members of a Whitchurch art group: Julie McHugh, Wendy Taylor, Diane Nelson, Linda Ralphs and Dorothy Charlesworth.

The mayor also visited the Heritage Centre to view displays and thank volunteers for their contributions.
