Artist and printmaker Ian Walker will present a free public demonstration for the Monroe Art League on Tuesday, May 26, focusing on his work and his role helping artists produce professional-quality prints, according to a community announcement.
The demonstration is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the United Way Building, 216 N. Monroe St. in Monroe. The event is open to the public at no cost, according to the announcement.
Walker is a co-owner of Gawk Printing, LLC, a fine art printing business he operates with illustrator Gloria Pridemore. Both artists are graduates of the Cleveland Institute of Art, where they earned bachelor’s degrees in illustration, according to the company’s website.
Following graduation, Walker and Pridemore worked in a variety of printing and production roles while continuing to pursue independent art careers. Their business focuses on producing prints in a wide range of sizes and formats for artists.
Focus on helping artists reproduce their work
During the Monroe Art League meeting, Walker will discuss his own artwork and explain how his business works with artists to translate original pieces into high-quality prints.
The Monroe Art League typically hosts monthly demonstrations featuring working artists and creative professionals. Meetings are generally held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the United Way Building in downtown Monroe.
