
The business was up against well-known names from across the region, including the Jorvik Viking Centre in York and the Forbidden Corner at Middleham.
The Selby venue was praised for its warm welcome and offering a great experience for families.
The ‘Family Experience’ Award recognises the top family-friendly attractions that offer exceptional experiences for children and families – which the studio says is testament to the fun, age inclusive activities and environment provided by The Painting Pot.

Owned by Selby’s Elaina Wynne, The Painting Pot is praised for offering a fun and relaxing space where individuals, friends and family can develop new skills and create unique gifts and keepsakes from a wide range of available ceramics.
The studio at New Lane, next to Market Cross shopping centre, opened four years ago. The Painting Pot hosts a variety of events such as parties, team-building sessions and themed workshops.
Owner Elaina Wynne said: “We love being part of Selby town centre and have built up a great customer base since we opened here – our customers love coming to us to get creative. We are so excited to have won this award and particularly pleased how it shows we really do have something for people of all ages.”
The award was presented at a special reception held at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate. The Muddy Stilettos Awards recognise the best independent lifestyle businesses across 35 counties. Regional award winners now qualify for the National Muddy Awards where they compete for the title ‘Best of the Best’.
Now in the awards’ 12th year, the 2025 awards have reached a record-breaking 11 million people.
