EASTON, Md. – The Academy Art Museum’s 27th Annual Craft Show has ended this weekend. The museum welcomed returning and first-time artists from all over the United States. Over 200 applicants applied, but only 60 applicants were invited.

AAM Interim Director, Jennifer Chrzanowski said the museum looks for all kinds of variation. “We take into consideration, different types of mediums, so we feature wood, jewelry, fiber decorative, and fiber wearable.”

Coming from Washington DC owner of ‘It’s Ok Clay’, Katie Maciocha who specializes in ceramics. She is pleased with the turnout of the event. “There are a couple of hundred artists that apply every year, I’m one of 60 that got admitted, it’s a lovely audience and the museum is gorgeous so I’m happy to be here.”

The show also featured someone from New Jersey. Sheila Fox who owns her pottery store. ‘Sheila Fox Pottery’ has never made it to the craft show. Fox said she is happy with how AAM has put everything together.

“This is the first year that I have done it, and I have to say it’s been great, I have never been to Easton Maryland before or to the Academy Art Museum, it’s just a great facility the people have been super welcoming and supportive.”

For over two decades, The Academy Art Museum has spotlighted artists with all types of different specialties.
Chrzanowski said the group is focused on continuing to serve the eastern shore.

“It’s a very big deal for us to continue this on for 27 years. We also welcome our community in every year, people look forward to it because it has been in October for so long. We’re thrilled that we can offer that again this year.”
