The Arts Guild of New Jersey, in partnership with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), is leading a program of free, monthly events on the second Saturday of each month from May through October.
The new Second Saturdays initiative will spotlight local artists along the Delaware River in Burlington City. Guests will experience galleries, workshops, and activities across multiple sites.
“We hope it tells young children that their creativity matters,” said Nisha Ray, president of Arts Guild New Jersey, in a statement to the Patch of Cinnaminson. “It sends the message that art is not just something that happens in museums or faraway places … it can happen right here, in their own community.”
Events within Second Saturdays will include food, family-friendly activities, and chances to win gift cards redeemable at local businesses.
According to the Patch, funding for the initiative comes in part from an NJEDA Art Phase II grant and is supported by NJ Transit to the Arts.
