THE CREATIVE Art Showcase is set to hold its biggest annual event at the town’s Artrix after three successful years at Bromsgrove School.
The organisers said the move was an exciting one for the vibrant extravaganza which is held in November and celebrates art, craft, performance and wellbeing.
Since its launch in 2021, CAS has grown to become Bromsgrove’s largest creative and community event, bringing together local artists, crafters and wellness partners.
Last year’s event at Bromsgrove School was a huge success, thanks to the hard work of the dedicated team, including volunteer curator Sonya Russell-Saunders.
The event saw a ten-fold increase in sales of original artwork, compared to previous years.
Bookworm by Andy Taylor took home the popular People’s Choice Award.
More planned for Showcase 2025
For Showcase 2025, the team is planning an exciting new format, including interactive zones and audience participation within the spacious Artrix.
Organisers are working hard to maximise the venue’s potential to deliver a fun and engaging experience for all visitors.

Young Creators Competition
The Creative Arts Showcase is launching its fourth ‘Young Creators Online Exhibition’ with entries for those aged 18 and under opening in February.
This year’s exhibition theme ‘Identity’ dovetails into ‘Courage’ – Severn Arts’ Theme for the Young Voices exhibition.
All works entered will be showcased in a special video at Worcester Cathedral, on the CAS website and social media in May/June and later at the 2025 Showcase.
Young artists can also win prizes and are urged to check out the CAS social channels or email [email protected] for more.
Martina Ponsonby, Stage Door’s director of dance, said, “We have been working with CAS from its inception and it has been a delight to see the availability of creative opportunities growing for young people and disadvantaged in our local area.
“Well done CAS – we are looking forward to more opportunities for everyone as your charity grows.”
Craft stalls applications
It is anticipated the Artrix move will lead to a high demand for craft stalls.
Local artisans and makers are urged to register their interest to Joy at [email protected] to ensure they get a place.
All arts and crafts will be curated to reflect local talent and craftsmanship.
Creative Friends
Last year, CAS expanded its community outreach, including its popular ‘Creative Friends’.
The low-cost and no-cost programme for arts, crafts and wellbeing has been a huge success in Bromsgrove and the monthly workshops will also move to Artrix in February 2025.
Project manager, Annmarie Hulley, said everyone was thrilled with how quickly the scheme had taken off.
“Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we are able to offer creative opportunities to people who may not have the resources to access them otherwise.”
She urged those interested to visit: ticketsource.co.uk and search for ‘Creative Friends’ to ensure they got a place and did not miss out.
Why not get involved?
The Creative Arts Showcase is run entirely by volunteers and everyone is welcome to get involved whether passionate about art, craft, performance or just want to help create a vibrant community event.
