How to Craft the Staff of Light in RuneScape: Dragonwilds – Recipe Guide

Before you can craft the Staff of Light in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, you first need to obtain the Staff of Light crafting recipe by completing the Highlighting the Problem side quest. Head to our Highlighting the Problem Walkthrough (Staff of Light Location Guide) page for a full walkthrough.

To craft the Staff of Light in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, you need a Smithing Anvil and the following materials:

The Smithing Anvil is unlocked by crafting a Bronze Bar at a Furnace for the first time. You need the following materials to craft a Smithing Anvil:

How to Get Blightwood in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Blightwood is found under Blightwood trees in the Bloodblight Swamp in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. You’ll notice some Blightwood tree roots are white – these are called Blightwood Roots. Chop them with an Iron Axe to get Blightwood. You can craft an Iron Axe at a Smithing Anvil after you’ve crafted an Iron Bar for the first time.

NOTE:

The Bloodblight Swamp is poisonous, meaning you’ll become poisoned. You can negate this by drinking Weak Antipoison Potion, which is crafted at a Brewing Cauldron using 1x Harralander, 1x Bittercap Mushroom, and 1x Clay Vessel.

You need the following materials to craft an Iron Axe in RuneScape: Dragonwilds:

You can see all the Blightwood locations in Bloodblight Swamp in our interactive map below:

How to Get Wild Anima in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Wild Anima is obtained by refining Anima-Infused Bark using a Kiln in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. You need 4x Anima-Infused Bark to make 1x Wild Anima, so you’ll need 32x Anima-Infused Bark to make the eight Wild Anima needed to craft the Staff of Light.

Anima-Infused Bark is found at the bottom of Anima trees in the Fractured Plains. These trees are gigantic and have blue leaves, so they’re pretty unmissable.

You can find all the Anima-Infused Bark locations in our RuneScape: Dragonwilds interactive map below:

Once you’ve got 32x Anima-Infused Bark, use them on a Kiln to refine them into the 8x Wild Anima you need. If you don’t have a Kiln, you need the following materials to craft one:

How to Get Sapphire in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Sapphire is obtained by mining Gold Ore deposits in the Bloodblight Swamp in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, provided you have the Gem Prospector ability unlocked first. You get the Gem Prospector ability at Mining Skill level 16. If you mine Gold Ore without having it unlocked, Sapphire won’t drop for you.

You need a Bronze Pickaxe or better to mine Gold Ore, which is crafted using the following materials:

You can see all the Gold Ore locations in our interactive map below:

Sapphires drop randomly when mining Gold Ore, and they’re rare. Since you need four of them, it may take you a while. You’ll know one has dropped when you see a blue crystal pop out instead of Gold Ore.

How to Get Vault Shards and Vault Cores in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Vault Shards and Vault Cores are found exclusively in Dragonkin Vaults in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Vault Shards are found in chests and by defeating Ruin Guardian enemies, while Vault Cores are found on podiums scattered around each Dragonkin Vault.

Our interactive map below shows you every Dragonkin Vault location in RuneScape: Dragonwilds:

Both Vault Cores and Vault Shards respawn after a couple of in-game days, so make sure you revisit Dragonkin Vaults you’ve already explored. We recommend placing a Lodestone by each Vault’s entrance so you can fast travel. This way, you’ve always got an easy way to return when you need to.

Once you have all the materials needed to craft the Staff of Light, take them to a Smithing Anvil in your base. You’ll find the Staff of Light crafting recipe under the Masterwork section, next to the Abyssal Whip and Crystal Bow.
