A Narnia-themed fair will be held Saturday, May 2, at Caldwell Park in Redding.

The event, hosted by Gregory & Darlene Victoria Alexander-Randolph, owners of Randolph’s Haven Arts Studio, runs all day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. along the Sacramento River Trail near the North Valley Art League Gallery.

Organizers said the fair will feature handmade arts and crafts, artisan vendors and live folk music. The event is free and open to the public.

The festival marks the third annual Shasta Celtic Fair and adopts a “Narnia” theme this year in recognition of the 75th anniversary of the classic literary series. Vendor applications remain open, according to organizers.

The 3rd Annual Plein Air Painting Competition will also take place during the event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Artists can register on-site for a $30 fee and will complete one canvas along the river trail. Organizers said the “Best of Show” winner will receive a $200 prize and a vendor space at next year’s fair. Participants may sell their work and keep the proceeds.
