Wendy Willis and Sarah Randelsome are the team behind the new business The Craftery in Beccles, located on the corner of Hungate Lane opposite Hungate Church.
The pair, who are both self-taught artists, met just over a year ago and realised they share a love for art and crafting.
Their shop is in the former home of Felix Shoe Repairs, which closed after owner John King retired after 19 years of business at the premises.
Ms Randelsome said: “Saturday was non-stop, from the minute we opened to the minute we closed.”
“We’ve got 40 artists’ work here and we sold pretty much at least one from everyone.
“The reaction from the local community has been amazing. We’ve had people come to the shop telling us they’ve seen our Facebook. It’s been really lovely.”
The pair are from Bradwell, near Great Yarmouth.
Locals can book onto a variety of workshops including sea glass art, water colours, and card making.
The space can accommodate eight to ten crafters, depending on the workshop and runs both daytime and evening sessions.
Alongside workshops and art courses, the shop also has a range of handmade items from local artists up for sale such as jewellery and silverware to paintings and knitted pieces.
Ms Randelsome has been running art classes for four years under the name Creative Cuppas and was looking for a home for her business.
Ms Willis, who was previously a bathroom fitter and tiler, was looking for a career change and so the pair decided to take the plunge and set up shop.
The shop is closed on Monday for workshops but shoppers can browse and buy from 9am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday.
