DIGITAL art features in Stratford Art Society’s annual exhibition for the first time.
It follows careful deliberation by the society’s committee, as exhibition rules state that as the entries are for sale, all must be original works and so specifically exclude entering prints, even limited editions.
But being a ‘virtual’ medium, the only way to display infinitely reproducible digital art is as a print.
Recognising the growth of interest in digital art, the committee felt it was only right to give the society’s digital artists an opportunity to display their work.
And so, with some strict guidelines on what and how works are to be presented, digital art will be included among the 500 works on display in the exhibition taking place at King Edward VI Grammar School from August 14 to 25. Admission is free.
