The Graphic Artists Guild: Protecting Creators’ Rights in the Age of AI

The Graphic Artists Guild’s Advocacy Co-Chairs, Carl Cleanthes and Rachel Sheeran, will brief attorneys and creators on the Guild’s history, mission, and current advocacy for visual creators in an AI driven marketplace. The program covers the Guild’s landmark efforts on copyright and contracts, how registration and evidence habits change outcomes for artists, and the real risks creators face today, including style mimicry, dataset transparency, and shifting client practices. Attendees will leave with practical guidance they can use to counsel artist clients (and for creatives in their artistic endeavors) and collaborate with the Guild on clinics and education.
