Salt Pots Ceramic Studio, located on Bingley Road in Saltaire, describes itself as a place “where creativity and community come together.”
The studio is run by a Bradford mum and daughter team, Sue Rhodes and Laura Sagar.
The pair have created a space that feels like a “home-from-home” for people to enjoy pottery painting sessions, hand-building workshops, and wheel-throwing tasters.
‘We’ve built something genuinely personal’
Sue, 64, said: “As a proud mum-and-daughter business, we’ve built something genuinely personal.
“Every customer who walks through our door is welcomed like a friend – whether they’re popping in for a quiet bit of painting, celebrating a special occasion, or trying something new for the very first time.
“That friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere is what keeps people coming back time and time again.”
The team caters for all ages and abilities, guiding visitors as they choose, paint, and personalise ceramic items.
Once painted, each piece is glazed and fired on-site, ready for collection in seven days.
Salt Pots also offers mobile sessions at a diverse range of venues, alongside events in the studio such as children’s parties, baby showers, hen dos, and corporate days.

The owners said: “Customers tell us what a lovely relaxing time they have had in the studio, taking their minds away from their busy lives for an hour or so.
“We love to see people proud with their pottery.
“Also, how lovely, friendly and approachable our amazing staff are.
“We’ve built some really lovely relationships with our customers over time.
“Some come in for a good chat, while others prefer a bit of peace and quiet, and we’re always mindful of that – making sure everyone feels as comfortable and at ease as they’d like to be.”
Celebrating their third anniversary
While Salt Pots has been open for 15 years, Sue and Laura have run it for the past three.
The pair are now celebrating their third anniversary of ownership.
“We are so, so proud of what we have achieved,” said the owners.
Saltaire is core to their existence
“We’re proud to be surrounded by a vibrant community of independent restaurants and cafés, each adding their own character and originality,” the team said.
“Saltaire is rich in culture and draws visitors as a destination in its own right, which makes it an inspiring place to be.
