The Sonoma Community Center is presenting an exhibit in Gallery 212 featuring the work of the center’s print coordinator and artist, Kelly Autumn. “Everything on the Table” launches Sept. 7 with an opening reception.
“Everything on the Table” is Autumn’s first solo exhibition. The exhibit will showcase a collection of her career-spanning prints in Gallery 212. The opening reception is from 4 – 6 p.m. with an artist talk at 5 p.m.
The exhibit features a range of contemporary works on paper, including woodcuts, linocuts, etchings, monotypes, and screenprints. Autumn’s work will be accompanied by a showcase of collaborative ceramics created with local artist Lexi Bakkar.
Autumn is a class instructor and the print coordinator at Sonoma’s local community center. Her work explores a cultural duality and the continuous discovery of oneself within the processes and projects that form the artist’s identity and creative practice.
The artist was one of five Sonoma County arts and culture workers to receive the inaugural LA ASAMBLEA Pa’lante grant. Her work has shown in various group exhibitions throughout the Bay Area, including Arts Benicia, Danville Art Gallery, the Compound Gallery in Emeryville, the Sanchez Center in Pacifica, and Studio Gallery in San Francisco.
As an Asian American visual artist and multidisciplinary printmaker rooted in Sonoma Valley, Autumn merges traditional printmaking methods with experimental mixed media, inspired by her upbringing in the Northern California Bay Area.
An exclusive print from her collection was created in the Sonoma Community Center printmaking studio and will be featured as a limited edition giclee. Proceeds from the piece will benefit the center’s diverse arts programming and community scholarships.
Autumn is also a member of the California Society of Printmakers and has worked as an artist-in-residence as well as a studio instructor at the Community Center since 2020.
Exhibition and reception events are free to attend at the Sonoma Community Center. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, until Sept. 28th.
Sundays are open by appointment. Gallery 212 is located on the second floor of the Center at 276 East Napa St. in Sonoma. For more information, visit https://sonomacommunitycenter.org/.
